Ikigai (生 き 甲 斐) is a Japanese term which, translated, means "something to live for" or "a reason to exist" (the equivalent of the French "raison d’être"). An ikigai is essentially a reason to get up in the morning.
According to Japanese culture, we all have an ikigai but we don't always know it. Obviously it is something positive, which makes us wake up with a smile on your lips, the charge and the enthusiasm just to face the day. For this reason, the term ikigai often indicates the loved one.
The search for one's ikigai requires a deep introspection and is fundamental if one wants to achieve satisfaction, serenity, happiness, this is because ikigai gives us back the meaning of our life.
What are your passions? What is your mission? What are your vocations and your job? From the union of these groups, your ikigai originates.
